By infiltrating C12, an emblematic venue for Brussels' nightlife culture, this performance proposes a hybrid format expressing itself through a personal and relational dance, a sung word to speak to the other or to exhort oneself, and very simple dialogues. In a world where the rule of the game seems to be to create for oneself, as well as possible, and to increase the self, on a corporate or individual scale, how does this breathless competition play out in our relational organizations? Softness1 is the first of two chapters commissioned by C12. Echoing an over-imaginative world in which the mundane is mediatized, analyzed, and where production and targets are a guarantee of something, Softness 1 questions this paradigm. Even if it's ethical, eco-conscious or alternativized, is this energy still the right one for us? still right for us? Between relational mini-experiences and a story built in the present, Softness 1 dismantles experiences of maladjustment to this competitive paradigm, epidermal, bodily, tired, sung reactions to this world.
